About Stake
Stake is a platform connecting the renter journey from lead to lease to long-term loyalty. We partner with residential operators to deliver renter rewards, credit building, and resident services that make renting better for residents and more valuable for owners. As we grow, our sales, operations, and engineering teams need a strong connective layer between them. That is this role.
The Role
You will be the translator between the business and engineering. Supporting our business product owner and engineering product managers, you will help define requirements, ensure end-to-end current and future state process mapping is completed, and turn that work into clear requirements engineering can build against. You will partner with sales and operations to understand how they work today and where it breaks, and with our Agile engineering team to see that work through delivery.
Day to day, expect stakeholder working sessions, requirements reviews, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
What You Will Do
Discovery and process mapping
• Facilitate interviews and working sessions with sales, operations, client success, and finance stakeholders.
• Ensure current-state operations are documented, including roles and responsibilities, core business processes, cross-team handoffs, and the systems, tools, vendors, and manual workarounds that support them.
• Ensure key workflows are mapped end to end, including partner onboarding, resident enrollment, and money movement such as rewards, billing, reconciliation, and partner reporting, with attention to controls and handoffs.
• Produce or oversee process maps, system and data inventories, and RACI matrices, and confirm they are complete enough to serve as inputs to engineering requirements.
• Ensure future-state processes are defined and documented, with a gap analysis against current state, so engineering builds toward a clear target.
Requirements and analysis
• Support the business product owner and engineering product managers in defining and prioritizing requirements, then translate them into user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications engineering can build against.
• Serve as the translator between business stakeholders and engineering, making sure both sides share the same understanding of scope, intent, and success criteria.
• Document data requirements and data flows, including integration points between Stake, partner, and internal systems.
• Capture and categorize pain points, separate root causes from symptoms, and flag compliance, data-handling, and security concerns.
• Recommend prioritized improvements with a plain-language rationale and rough effort and impact.
Delivery support
• Work with our Agile engineering team to refine the backlog, clarify stories, and answer business questions during sprints.
• Participate in sprint planning and reviews, representing the needs of sales and operations stakeholders.
• Track progress on assigned initiatives, keep timelines and action items current, and flag risks or blockers early.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and launch readiness with business teams.
Reporting
• Build and maintain basic operational and program reporting, such as enrollment, adoption, and delivery status.
• Prepare weekly status updates for internal stakeholders.
• Maintain a clean, organized document set in Confluence that others can pick up without you in the room.
What You Bring
• 2 to 4 years as a business analyst, systems analyst, operations analyst, or similar, including experience writing requirements for a technical team and working with product owners or product managers.
• Strong interviewing and facilitation skills. You are as comfortable with a sales leader as with an engineer.
• Fluency with process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or equivalent) and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
• Basic understanding of data flows, APIs, and system integrations, enough to describe how information moves between systems.
• Solid Excel or Google Sheets skills and comfort building simple reports.
• Organized and dependable with follow-through across multiple workstreams.
• Clear, concise writing. Your documentation is the product.
• Discretion. You will work with resident personal information, payment data, and credit data, and must treat all of it as confidential.
Optional
• 1 to 2 years of experience working with an Agile or Scrum team using Jira.
• Background in proptech, single-family rental, multifamily, or fintech.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRMs.
• SQL or BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• CBAP, CCBA, or Agile certification.
Logistics
• Full-time employee based in Dallas, TX.
• Salary range: $70,000 to $77,000, plus benefits.
