This role sits at the intersection of financial modeling, accounting analysis, and operational insight. You’ll build and stress-test models, normalize financials, identify risks, and help investment and operating teams understand what’s really going on under the hood of a business. This is a hands-on, high-expectation role for someone who loves living in models, enjoys finding accounting “weirdness,” and can explain complex financial stories clearly. Core Competencies and Responsibilities - Core Financial Analyses & Modeling: You will own end-to-end analytical workstreams including:

- Quality of Earnings (QoE) support
- Revenue sustainability and customer concentration analysis
- Margin bridge and variance analysis
- Working capital trend analysis
- Cash flow analysis and free cash flow (FCF) normalization
- Identification of debt-like items
- Scenario, sensitivity, and downside case modeling
- Unit economics and cohort-style analysis (where applicable)
- Budget vs. actual variance analysis
- Accounting and Financial Statement Expertise: You won’t issue formal audit opinions, but you must understand accounting well enough to spot risk, inconsistencies, and red flags:
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP (preferred) and IFRS
- Accrual accounting concepts and financial statement linkages
- Revenue recognition review and risk assessment
- Expense classification and capitalization analysis
- Working capital mechanics and cash conversion dynamics
- AR aging analysis and bad debt risk
- Inventory valuation methods and obsolescence risk
- AP and accrued liabilities review
- Understanding of common small-to-mid market (SMM) accounting weaknesses, including:
- Cash-basis bookkeeping
- Poor cutoff controls
- Informal expense policies
- Advanced Excel & Financial Tools Proficiency: You must be fast, clean, and reliable in tools:
- Advanced Excel (complex formulas, structured models, scenario toggles)
- Strong model hygiene (clear structure, assumptions sections, error checks, version control)
- PowerPoint / Google Slides for executive-ready outputs
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau
- Basic SQL literacy for pulling and validating data
What you need to possess - 2–5+ years in FP&A, transaction advisory, diligence, consulting, IB, PE ops, or corporate finance
- Heavy modeling exposure in Excel
- Experience with small-to-mid market companies is a big plus
- Comfortable working with imperfect data and messy books
- High attention to detail + strong business judgment
- Clear communicator who can translate numbers into insights
