Your Mission:
Your mission is to own the member experience at the brand new fitness center at The Esplanade with the highest level of customer service. You get to oversee the grand opening of this state of the art gym which is exclusive to tenants of The Esplanade corporate offices. You will support the Tenant Experience team as needed with building-wide events aimed to increase engagement and tenant satisfaction.
The Legacy You’ll Leave:
After your time in this role, you will have brought daily joy to the hundreds of tenants at The Esplanade. You created deep and meaningful relationships with the building’s management team, tenants, and external partners. Because of your work, the fitness center became a tenant focal point for renewing their leases. This led The Esplanade to set the standard for workplaces reimagined, turning Phoenix into a thriving hub for offices for years to come.

What You're Responsible For:

  • Fitness Center Operational Management: Oversee the operational strategy and management of the Esplanade’s fitness center, ensuring a seamless experience for members. This may include: ordering locker room supplies, cleaning equipment, folding and restocking towels and laundry, and opening and closing procedures. Manage fitness contractors including hiring, scheduling and payroll.
  • Fitness Center Tours and Leasing Support: Lead tours of the fitness center spaces to interested tenants, communicating Lulafit’s offerings and private services throughout.
  • Marketing and Communication: Implement and oversee marketing strategies and communications from branded templates, including newsletters, email campaigns, digital marketing, and printed materials to engage tenants. Curate monthly wellness tips and materials to share in site-wide marketing materials.
  • Fitness Center Services: Be the sole personal trainer, administering personal training and small group training sessions to meet or exceed training revenue goals. Maintain a clear and concise training calendar through our proprietary technology and Calendly. Plan and lead up to five group fitness classes per week. Manage a roster of fitness contractors to provide specialty classes like Yoga.
  • Fitness Center Revenue Generation: Manage payment for memberships, sessions and session packages, upselling and cross-selling where appropriate to meet or exceed membership revenue goals. Work with tenant points of contact to negotiate and sell corporate membership agreements to support revenue goals.
  • Member Satisfaction and Engagement: Prioritize member satisfaction by actively engaging with tenants to understand their needs and preferences, to achieve a 95% or higher membership satisfaction rating each quarter. Implement innovative strategies and programs to enhance their experience, fostering a vibrant and connected community that drives long-term loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Building Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the building maintenance and operations teams to ensure the facility is well maintained.

Who You Are - Baseline Requirements:

  • You have 3+ years experience in a fitness center environment. You may have worked as a lead instructor of a boutique studio or a manager at a commercial gym.
  • Even better if your experience has touched the corporate fitness or wellness sector.
  • You must have a valid Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized organization.
  • You must be comfortable teaching multiple formats of group fitness classes to groups of all sizes.
  • You are proficient with both the Google suite (what lulafit uses) and Microsoft Office (what our clients use). Don’t worry, you don’t need to be great at PowerPoint nor super savvy with Excel.

Who You Are - Key Competencies:

  • Obsessively customer-centric. In previous roles, you have exceeded what customers expected of you, you have an innate hospitality mindset and are happiest when you are serving others.
  • A hyper-organized ball juggler. You stay extremely organized and are constantly reprioritizing your own work because it’s what makes you most effective. Everyone refers to you as a stellar multi-tasker.
  • A stellar communicator. You are known for clearly communicating your points - whether in email or verbally. In this role you’ll be engaging with different levels of stakeholders (office managers to C-Suite).
  • Technologically savvy: You have worked within many different technological environments and you are quick to learn new platforms. You approach technology with a curious mind and strive to use any and all tech efficiently and effectively.
  • Creative and innovative mindset. You are an authentically curious person. You consistently envision new possibilities and generate ideas beyond conventional boundaries. You have an inclination to tackle challenges with original approaches, seeking unique ways to address issues and improve existing methods.
  • A reliable team player. Your past managers would refer to you as dependable and collaborative. You thrive working as part of a small team (in this case, you’ll have five other colleagues on-site) and understand how your daily tasks contribute to the success of the entire operation. You come to work each day ready to “pick up an oar” and do what’s needed for your team to be successful.
