Your Impact at Land Intelligence
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled GIS Technician to join our team. As a GIS Technician, you will play a pivotal role in collecting, analyzing, and managing geographic data to assist in decision-making processes. You will be responsible for creating accurate maps, conducting spatial analysis, and supporting various projects that require geospatial data. If you have a strong background in GIS technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for working with maps and data, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Use GIS software and tools to collect, manipulate, analyze, and visualize geographic data.
  • Create, update, and maintain accurate maps and databases relating to specific projects.
  • Conduct spatial analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within the data.
  • Collaborate with project teams to determine data requirements and assist in data acquisition efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of GIS workflows and protocols.
  • Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to other team members or external stakeholders when required.
  • Participate in fieldwork, data collection, and verification exercises as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or other similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of geospatial data collection techniques, spatial analysis, and database management.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation, data conversion, and cartographic mapping techniques.
  • Familiarity with GPS and remote sensing technologies is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and possess a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Prior experience in a similar role or internship is advantageous but not required.
