So, what’s the role?
Kin is looking for an experienced Insurance Forms & Rates Analyst to join our team, focusing primarily on homeowner insurance forms with a developing emphasis on rate analytics. This role will be crucial in the analysis, development, filing, and implementation of personal property insurance forms, ensuring compliance with state regulations while optimizing policy language for clarity and competitive positioning. You'll collaborate closely with product management, analytics, compliance, legal, and engineering teams to support our property and casualty offerings.
A day in the life could include:

Forms Management & Compliance
Prepare and submit form filings to state Departments of Insurance, ensuring timely approval and compliance with state-specific requirements.
Engage with state regulators to negotiate form approval when needed, ensuring all submissions meet regulatory standards.
Define and test form generation criteria for accuracy and compliance with regulations and business needs.
Refine policy language and align with business goals, leading cross-functional teams (product management, claims, legal, compliance).
Work on developing new forms for coverages such as ADUs, ensuring regulatory adherence.
Collaborate with engineering to develop business requirements for forms and manage implementation, maintaining compliance throughout the process.
Drive process improvements and structural changes to enhance form development and compliance efficiency.
Read and interpret insurance statutes to ensure all forms and processes are compliant.
Participate in audits and market conduct exams to ensure regulatory compliance.

Rate Analytics
Assist product management with competitive coverage and rate analysis to enhance offerings.
Develop analytical skills to support rate analysis as the role evolves.
Perform basic data analysis using Excel, ensuring data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations.
Assist in preparing and submit rate and rules filings to state Departments of Insurance, ensuring timely approval and compliance with state-specific requirements.
I’ve got the skills...but do I have the necessary ones?
2+ years of experience in homeowner insurance forms, coverage, and regulations.
1+ years of relevant insurance product and functional experience within homeowners insurance.
Proficiency in analyzing policy language, interpreting legal documents (insurance statutes), and basic data analysis (Excel).
Detail-oriented, adaptable to fast-paced environments, with excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Eagerness to learn rate analytics and Florida-specific filing requirements.
Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing regulatory and business needs.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, particularly when working with regulatory agencies.
