At Inspectify, we are a YCombinator and venture backed start-up building the real estate marketplace for home inspections, appraisals, and more. Our software platform and mobile app for inspectors and appraisers streamlines the experience for all parties while simultaneously capturing comprehensive data about that can be leveraged for downstream use cases such as limited home warranties, home energy assessments, renovations, and more. We operate in both the United States and Canada and partner with prominent real estate players, ranging from publicly traded REITs, to home builders, property managers, and real estate agents, among others.

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. We are open to candidates both in the US and Canada. After growing revenues by 30% from February to March, we need someone to help us count all of it! This role would be an Accounts Receivable focused position. A typical day might involve spending a few hours reconciling customer payments from the day before, followed by corresponding with customers about how to apply their payments correctly, along with a few meetings and strategic projects as they arise. This is a small, albeit rapidly growing, start-up on the verge of reaching escape velocity. At Inspectify you will have the opportunity to work cross functionally and accelerate your career development in a variety of potential directions.

We have an office in Seattle if you happen to live nearby. If not, that's ok too. Most of our employees work remote throughout the United States and Canada.

You Will:

  • Reconcile all customer payments
  • Assist with and own parts of the month-end close process (bank reconciliation)
  • Reach out and follow up with customers to collect payment for past due invoices
  • Make sure the bank reconciliation is as close to “real time” as possible
  • Help identify, build, and integrate our financial software ecosystem
  • Serve as a key player to brainstorm new ideas and ad hoc projects

You Have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Economics
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • A desire to apply your skills, learn, and grow within the intersection of finance and tech
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in Accounting/Finance
  • An excitement to solve problems in innovative ways and a belief in continuous improvement
  • An analytical mind, wired to turn data into actionable insights

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with accounting software solutions (Quickbooks, Sage Intacct, Netsuite, Bill.com, Expensify, etc)
