The Opportunity

We are seeking an autonomous, creative Senior Developer with a “builder” mindset. This role is for an engineer who thrives on defining their own technology stack, architecting high-performance full-stack solutions, and managing the underlying networking needed to bring a Proof of Concept (POC) to life.

In this role, you aren’t just writing code; you are engineering the environment in which it runs. You will bridge the gap between initial ideation and production, working with product teams to define feasibility and infrastructure teams to ensure successful hand-offs beyond the POC phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Autonomous Stack Definition: Evaluate project requirements and select the most efficient tools. You are expected to master high-performance, cloud-native frameworks such as Micronaut, Vert.x, Ktor or Quarkus to deliver lightweight and fast solutions.
• Full-Stack Development: Build scalable backend services in Java and modern frontends/middleware using React and Node.js.
• POC Ownership: Provision and manage your own development environments during the POC phase. You must be comfortable with network configuration, container orchestration, and server-side setup to validate your designs.
• Collaborative Deployment: Partner with the core Infrastructure Team to transition validated POCs into production-grade environments, ensuring security and scalability requirements are met.
• Refinement & Translation: Work directly with sales and product teams to refine technical requirements based on real-world constraints and performance data.
• Rigorous Documentation: Maintain high standards for technical documentation, including Swagger/OpenAPI specifications, build instructions, and deployment runbooks.

Required Qualifications

• Java Mastery: Expert knowledge of the Java ecosystem and frameworks like (Quarkus, Vert.x, or Micronaut). We also like Kotlin if that’s your choice.
• JavaScript Frameworks: Proficiency in React.js for the frontend and Node.js for server-side scripting or tooling.
• SQL Mastery: Strong experience in relational database design, query optimization, and schema management.
• Networking Fundamentals: A deep understanding of network layers (DNS, TCP/IP, Load Balancing, VPCs) and security protocols (SSL/TLS, x509 Certificates, PKI).
• Infrastructure Management: Ability to stand up and configure your own local or cloud-based development environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Linux CLI). Hands-on experience with Azure environments and tools.
• Hybrid Environments: Experience building for both cloud-native and on-premises environments.
• Self-Starter: A track record of taking initiative and making technical decisions without granular supervision.
• Team Liaison: Able to effectively translate technical complexities to product managers and collaborate with infrastructure specialists to deploy and refine solutions.
• Detail-Oriented: Disciplined about documentation (Swagger) to ensure team alignment and long-term project health.
